  • Sat, March 31:  My deepest appreciation to all the Scouts and their families who assisted with and attended the funeral for Mr. Anderson today.  A difficult day was brightened and enriched by your presence and your service.  Mr. Anderson would have been very proud of you all.

  • Our dear friend and assistant scoutmaster David Anderson passed away suddenly on Sunday the 25th of March. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family. Services will be this Saturday the 31st of March at 11 a.m. at St. Georges Episcopal Church, with a viewing preceding the services from 10:15 to 10:45 a.m. A reception will follow also at the church. All arrangements including food for the reception have been taken care of. St. Georges Church is located at 4467 Commonwealth Avenue in La Caņada Flintridge.  Friends desiring to make a contribution in lieu of flowers may donate to the San Gabriel Valley Council of the Boy Scouts of America; a contribution form may be downloaded here.

  • Mon, March 26:  We will hold our regular meeting tonight at 7:30 p.m. as scheduled.

  • Fri-Sat, March 23-24: ADULTS!  Scoutmaster Fundamental training at Camp Eaton (formerly Camp Cumorah Crest).  Head up the Crest from Friday evening through Saturday and get your basic training.  Wear the "Trained" patch.  More importantly, be eligible to be an Assistant Scoutmaster for Troop 502! This is the most important training you can take both for yourself and for our Troop.  Click here for the flyer.


  • Tue, March 20Congratulations to Cooper Green who this evening became Troop 502's 83rd Eagle Scout!  And our thanks to Cooper for all of his contributions to Troop 502.

  • Mon, March 19:  Court of Honor tonight at 7:30 p.m.

  • Fri-Sun, March 16-18Anza Borrego Desert camping trip.  Meet at the Scout Shed at 4:00 p.m. Friday afternoon.  Return to the Scout Shed by 4:00 p.m. Sunday afternoon.

  • Mon, March 12:  Regular meeting tonight at 7:30 p.m.

  • Fri-Sun, March 2-4:  No trip this weekend.  Camping and off-roading at Anza Borrego State Park will be rescheduled so that more of our Scouts can attend. 

  • Troop 502 welcomes the 13 new Scouts who have just joined the Troop from Packs 507, 512, and 519.  We're please to have Adam, David, David, Eugene, Jad, Jeffrey, Justin, Mark, Paul, Phillip, Robert, Roger, and Ryan as new members of our Troop.

  • Mon, February 26: Regular meeting tonight to welcome our new Scouts.   No Court of Honor tonight.  The meeting will be in St. George's sanctuary instead of Lower Softly Hall due to a room scheduling conflict.

  • Sun, February 25: Pack 507 Blue & Gold dinner at St. Bedes from  3:00 to 5:00 p.m.

  • Fri, February 23: Pack 512 Blue & Gold dinner at La Canada Elementary cafeteria at 6:30 p.m.

  • Mon, February 19: No meeting tonight.  Everyone enjoy your  President's Day Weekend!

  • Fri, February 16: Congratulations to Mr. Stack and Mr. Slaughter who were each honored this evening with the Extra Miler Award at the Annual Rose Bowl District Recognition Dinner.  Congratulations too to Mr. Nickoloff who was honored as the Commissioner of the Year.

  • Fri, February 16: ADULTS!  Annual Rose Bowl District Recognition Dinner at First United Methodist Church, Pasadena, at 6:00 p.m.  We have the flyer on our web site in the Adult Resources area.  Two adult leaders from Troop 502 will be honored this evening.

  • Tue, February 13: Pack 519 Blue & Gold dinner at the La Canada High School cafeteria at 6:00 p.m.

  • Mon, February 12: Regular meeting tonight at 7:30 p.m. to continue our work on the Personal Management merit badge.  Boards of Review will also be available for any Scout needing one.

  • Wed's, February 7, 14, & 21: ADULTS!  High Adventure Outings Leader Training at Smiser Center from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. each Wednesday.  This is valuable training for those of you who might lead one of our outings.  This is very interesting and valuable training, but it is not a substitute for Scoutmaster Fundamentals training (see the March 23-24 notice above).   We have the flyer on our web site in the Adult Resources area. 

  • Mon, February 5: Regular meeting tonight at 7:30 p.m.  Guest speaker: Bill Bell, Climbing Merit Badge Counselor.  This is the final preparation meeting for the rock climbing trip to Joshua Tree on February 9-11.  We are also expecting visiting Webelos from Pack 519 this evening.

  • Sat, February 3: Climbing merit badge activity--rock wall climbing at Sport Chalet, Glendora!  Meet at St. George's at 8:00 a.m., return at 2:00 p.m.  Bring lunch money and a signed liability release form.  Wear comfortable clothes for climbing including your new style T502 t-shirts.  Climbing shoes will be provided.  Call Mrs. Barnes for further information or if you haven't yet signed up for this trip.

  • Mon, January 29: Regular meeting tonight at 7:30 p.m. to prepare for the rock climbing trip.  We will select meals and collect deposits for the trip.  Deposits are mandatory!  See the brochure for the costs of this trip.

  • Thu-Sun, January 25-28: Ski trip to Big Bear!

  • Mon, January 22: Regular meeting tonight at 7:30 p.m.  Guest speaker: Bill Bell, Climbing Merit Badge Counselor, who will begin to prepare us for the rock climbing trip to Joshua Tree on February 9-11.  See Mrs. Barnes' brochure for further details.  We will also have guest Webelos from Pack 507 this evening.

  • Mon, January 15: Yes, there is a meeting tonight!   We will meet with parents and Scouts to go over the necessary details for the ski trip to Big Bear.  New releases, powers of attorney, and medical forms for the ski trip are on the For Parents page.
